Longest Bridge-Danyang - Kunshan

Have you ever imagined of travelling by car on a bridge which just keeps extending  further as far as our eyes could see. Then you might as well travel on the Danyang-Kunshan the longest bridge ever which could really take you just too far.Yes we are talking about the  longest  bridge  in China the Danyang- Kunshan  which is 164.8 Km in length viaduct on the Beijing Shanghai High speed Railway.
The Bridge is located on the rail line between Shanghai  and Nanjing. The bridge runs roughly parallel across the Yangtze river about 5 to 50 miles down south. There is also a 9 Km long  section over open water across  Yangcheng Lake in Suzhou. The bridge has a span of 80 meters and a basement containing 2,000 pillars.
The bridge was completed in 2010  after four years of construction  and  was opened in 2011.The objective of the construction of this staggering long bridge has been to dilute the rail traffic.
The amazing part is that the Qingdao-Haiwan Road Bridge  is also a part of the Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge and it holds the record for the longest bridge  over  water .
We were astounded by the  brilliant example of of engineering and the bridge which is almost 174 times longer than the London's Tower bridge over the Thames river.Totally amazed by these facts the Danyang Kunshan Grand bridge gains entry in to Elite World Records for the  longest bridge in the world.
