A game like FootBall has wider support and adulation in Europe.But in a  country like India which has a  mass addiction to cricket  makes it tough for other games likes foot ball,hockey,tennis to gain ground . In India cricket is practiced  as a religion and cricketers playing the game at the international level enjoy Godly status.So much is the love and support  the game receives from the public.
Shri Vision Social Empowerment and Welfare Association (SRV SEWA) wanted to address this issue in a positive way.They felt that every game needs support and patronage for a  budding sportsperson to receive  professional training and play it on  a global stage.The much adulation that cricket enjoys needs to be shared by other games too so that the country can boast of quality sportmen across  all varieties.
They felt this was the best way to make the world and especially India realise that all games are important and exciting to play in their own right.Hence in this endaevour they decided to give Football the much needed boost it deserved as it is also a team game like cricket.So the masses can relate  easily and the message will gain faster acceptance.
The organisation helped 239 players to hit the goal of the football during a match and thus revived the excitement and interest in  the game .
The 239 players were students of IPS Academy,Indore and were more than ready to be a part of the world record attempt  which aimed to increase adulation and support for Football.On November  9,2011 they  along with 'Dainik Dabang Dunia' inspired every youth to have a goal in life and work towards it.Hitting the goal during the football relay match was a symbolic representation of achieving the set targets in life.
The event took place  at Indore,Madhya Pradesh,India.

Most Number of People hugging a banyan tree simultaneosly

Hugging the tree means expressing your support to protect them and nurture them.This was  the main purpose of Shri Vision Social Empowerment and Welfare Association (SRV SEWA) to take up this gesture so very seriously.Trees are the largest and longest living organisms on earth.
 To grow tall the tree has become a miracle of engineering and a complex chemical factory. It is able to take water and salts out of the earth and lift them up to the leaves, sometimes over 400 ft above. By means of photosynthesis the leaves combine the water and salts with carbon dioxide from the air to produce the nutrients which feed the tree. In this process, as well as wood, trees create many chemicals, seeds and fruit of great utility to man. Trees also remove carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas, from the air.
Trees are of continued importance to the environment. Tropical rain forests have of particular significance; although they now occupy less than 6 per cent of the land surface of the earth they probable sustain more than half of the biological species on the planet.
We continually remain  to be indebted to trees and their importance to all the life forms present on earth.They help Mother Earth to reduce the effects of Global Warming by reducing the levels of Carbon di oxide in the atmosphere.Carbon di oxide is mainly responsible to increase the heat  to a sweltering limit.
SRV SEWA the  non profit organisation help this cause gain wider publicity by making the attempt a world record event.The efforts to conserve nature and trees is well understood by everybody.They gathered 25 students and staff members of Institute of Management and Development to hug the trunk of a big banyan tree having circumference of 442 inches  for a  minute.
This record attempt was attempted  for the first time to lay the significance of banyan trees.The event  was supported by Dainik Dabang Dunia a leading newspaper  at Indore,Madhya Pradesh,India on November 6,2011.

Most Number of People Hugging Trees at a single Location

Trees can be termed as the best friend to all the living organisms on this earth  and especially to mankind.Trees help in providing rainfall,protecting the top soil from being washed away in case of heavy floods,provide  cool shade during scorching summer heat,provide fruits,flowers and every part of trees are of great use to manking.Be it the the wood we get from trees to make furniture,rubber,bamboo and lots more.Trees alter the environment in which we live by moderating climate, improving air quality, conserving water, and harboring wildlife. Climate control is obtained by moderating the effects of sun, wind, and rain. Radiant energy from the sun is absorbed or deflected by leaves on deciduous trees in the summer and is only filtered by branches of deciduous trees in winter.
Temperature in the vicinity of trees is cooler than that away from trees. The larger the tree, the greater the cooling. By using trees in the cities, we are able to moderate the heat-island effect caused by pavement and buildings in commercial areas.
Air quality can be improved through the use of trees, shrubs, and turf. Leaves filter the air we breathe by removing dust and other particulates. Rain then washes the pollutants to the ground. Leaves absorb carbon dioxide from the air to form carbohydrates that are used in the plant’s structure and function. In this process, leaves also absorb other air pollutants—such as ozone, carbon monoxide, and sulfur dioxide—and give off oxygen.
By planting trees and shrubs, we return to a more natural, less artificial environment. Birds and other wildlife are attracted to the area. The natural cycles of plant growth, reproduction, and decomposition are again present, both above and below ground. Natural harmony is restored to the urban environment.Shri Vision Social Empowerment and Welfare Association (SRV SEWA) decided to convey their support to protect trees for the good of the environment  by creating a world record event  so that the message is spread everywere.
They roped in 111 persons to hug trees for a minute  at the Campus of Engineering,Devi Ahilya University,Indore,Madhya Pradesh,India on November 9,2011.The advantage of conveying positive social message through world records are  that the message is better understood,gets wide support and publicity.The objective of the campaign is materialised and the youth realise the gravity of the situation.Efforts from each one of us is only going to help us conserve nature and ecological balance for the future generations too.

Most people wearing Paper Hats

Plastic hats are most commonly used by people as they look good and  are also  very durable.There  is  least you need to  do to maintain  plastic hats well.But plastic hats are not very environment friendly.We all are aware of this fact that plastic is not easily bio degradable.Efforts to degrade plastic can only render the environment with full of toxic and  harmful affluents resulting in air,water and soil  pollution.
Each one of us can recycle plastic and reduce usage of plastic to help conserve the environment in a right way.Kudos to their effort Shri Vision Social Empowerment and Welfare Association (SRV SEWA)  are doing every bit to save nature.In this endaevour they decided to encourage all the kids to wear paper hats instead of plastic hats.
This was much appreciated because paper  pulp procured from nature is nature friendly and is certainly not as harmful as plastic.They wanted to make the students realise this that  paper hats can be the better alternative to plastic when it comes to environment  safety.They thought by creating a world record their initiative would  derive mass attention and the message would reach all the sections of the public in a faster way.
Hence they gathered 351 students from Vidyasagar School  ,Indore ,to create a record attempt of wearing paper hats  at a single location.The 351 participants wore paper hats for 11 minutes and thus sent out environment consciousness as their prime motive of creating a world record.The event took place  on November 10,2011 at Indore,Madhya Pradesh,India .

Most number of persons in a reading relay

Reading should be insisted on being a  routine  for children. Television has taken a prominent place in their lives to such an extent that even while having dinner together they are totally glued to it.Such has been an influence of the Television  in the minds of kids.This has resulted in most of the kids lacking the habit to read books of their age.Books provide not only knowledge but also make us think,learn and increase our vocablary. Books broaden our vision and are touted to be the true friends.
But sadly over the past decade television and  Internet have been ruling the roost all over.Kids are so addicted to them that they hardly find enough time to take a book on hand and read it.
However Shri Vision Social Empowerment and Welfare Association (SRV SEWA)  has decided to address the issue in a different way by creating a world record.  351 students from Vidyasagar School in Indore,  Madhya Pradesh,India  read a  line  each from the book A Short Life of Sri Ramakrishna' a 45 page book written by Swami Tejasananda of Ramakrishna Mission.
The event  took place on November 5,2011 with the support of 'Dainik Dabang Dunia' a leading newspaper .In this way the students got enlightened by reading the book and the organisation set the message very clear about the importance of  reading habits.

Largest collection of Pens

Pens are a writing tool.We write and put them back on the stand.But here is a collector completely swooned by this writing object.Yes we are talking about Angelika Unverhau from Dinslaken in Germany who has an impressive collection of 2,20,000 pens from 146 countries.She has been collecting unusual pens since childhood, but decided to take her hobby more seriously in 1990. She founded a club for ball-point pen collectors who meet twice a year to trade them.
The record event got recognised on July 9,2012.She holds the record for the Largest ball point pen collection and gains entry in to Elite World Records.

Largest Toy Collection of Toy Cars

This is going to definitely create much amusement among kids.The news of the largest toy collection  that any little kid could ever dream of.Yes young guys we advice you to take a breather and  see for yourself.
We mean to talk about the huge number of toy cars collected by Dr Hank Hammer from San Antonia,Texas,United States of America.Dr Hammer has been collecting miniature car models since 1968.He has a total of 36,445 models of cars and majority of them being Porsche models.Dr Hammer supersedes the record of Nabil Karam  from Lebanon having 27,777 car models.
This record breaker also has a collection of huge number of posters,photos,pictures, brochures and all related to cars and motor cars.Over a span of time his prodigious one of a kind collection  was published  in major magazines .He has stored his entire collection in a 3000  + sq ft ,two story home in Suburban San Antonia.He conceived the original toy collection when he was serving the United States army.
This has been the fanaticism of a man who was  working as  a  Orthodontics Doctor.This record breaking feat made it to the headlines on July 9,2012 .

Biggest Crockery

Many of  the  common Indian kitchens would  boast of the large amount of crockery present in their  shelves.Crockery is used to store food and serve it.The idea to host a   grand feast on huge crockeries was a huge idea in itself.This idea was spiralled by none other than  Ankit Ramakrishna Kansalat.

A resident of Modinagar ,Ghaziabad,Uttar Pradesh,India took it upon himself to serve food in the biggest  crockery.If that didn't quite convince you he has managed to serve food at his Deewan-E-Khas restaurant  on a thali measuring 8ft in diameter,4 bowls each 2.5 in  diameter,1 soon 3.5 ft long and one glass 4.5 ft in height.The total crockery without the food weighed 55 Kg.He had some delicious menu served on the mega grand thali  which consisted of Dal Makhni,Boondi raitha,rice,chapathi, Kadhai paneer,Malai Kofta, pickles and salad.The chapathis were 2 ft in diameter served on the thali.Two others along with Ankit also were involved in making this giant crockery.It took them  40 days to complete the project.

The event took place on June 12,2011.This has helped Ankit and his team gain wide popularity  by creating a record.

Largest Chocolate Sculpture

Chocolate  is one of the popular food types and flavours in the world .And it is precisely  one of the biggest hit among  kids.Children  love to lay their hands on chocolates as much as they can.And for all such chocolate lovers  they need no other better place to pay  their homage to their mouth watering favourite treat.this has come from the famous chocolate makers and so you need not have any doubts.
California based   Chocolate maker Qzina Chocolate and pastry have broken the record of creating the largest chocolate sculpture building it on the lines of the ancient Mayan  Kukulcan   temple pyramid at Chichen Itza, in Mexico .This has become a delicious place of worship.The first of its kind of place of worship  which offers more temptation  to the  taste buds rather than  to offer devotion. They have taken utmost care while creating the sculpture ensuring that the replica has the correct amount of steps  and carvings as present in the original master piece.
The mouth watering six ft tall creation measured 10ft by 10 ft wide and took 400 hours of work from the staff of the pastry unit .
Qzina Chocolate and pastry made this delicious temple to welcome its 30th year of existence in a grand way.They chose to replicate the Mayan for the crucial role the later played in the origin of chocolates.The Mayans were the first to discover the true potential of the cocoa bean and cultivate the Cacao tree .They realised the taste and the addicting possibilities of  cocoa that they worshipped the Cacao tree and praised its beans as the gifts of God.
The sculpture weighs 18,239 pounds  surpassing the Italian record in 2010 for more than 7500 pounds.
The sculpture also has 365 steps representing the Mayan calendar and the makers carved  the images of small Mayan Tribesmen  to adorn the model.
This made in to the headlines on May 15,2012 in California,United States of America.With the amount of planning and intensive  research done for building the sculpture in an attempt  to honour the original chocolate  inventors gained  to make a world record .This has really proved out to be a master piece for the chocolate Institute.

Largest Paper Airplane

Flying a paper plane has been of a keen interest to every child who usually gets excited looking at planes flying high in the sky.Many of us also might have flown paper planes during our childhood.Pima Air & Space Museum has come with a larger than life size paper plane concept in Tuscon,Arizona,United States of America on March 23,2012.
Pima Air & space Museum launched the 45 ft long 'Desert Eagle' which flew across the Arizona Desert albeit for 10 seconds across the skies. Pima Air Space official was quoted as saying  the paper plane during the flight rekindled the childhood excitement in all of us The Desert Eagle was catapulted from an inspiration of a  12 year old Arthuro Valderamo  design The 800 pound aircraft flew at a speed of 98 miles per hour at an altitude of 2,703 ft after being towed in to the sky by an helicopter.
The project began in January when the museum launched a contest to see who could fold a paper plane and fly it the furthest.Arthuro Valderamo's design won the contest and spurred by the kid's enthusiasm the officials at Pima bolstered the idea to see whether they could fly their own aircraft made from falcon paper.
The contest  was hosted by Pima Air and Space Museum to motivate kids to develop an interest in Aeronautics,Maths and Physics.
As this was an amazing record  achievement to try something different  it has gained entry in to Elite World Records.

Longest Bridge-Danyang - Kunshan

Have you ever imagined of travelling by car on a bridge which just keeps extending  further as far as our eyes could see.Then you might as well travel on the Danyang-Kunshan the longest bridge ever which could really take you just too far.Yes we are talking about the  longest  bridge  in China the Danyang- Kunshan  which is 164.8 Km in length viaduct on the Beijing Shanghai High speed Railway.
The Bridge is located on the rail line between Shanghai  and Nanjing.The bridge runs roughly parallel across the Yangtze river about 5 to 50 miles down south.There is also a 9 Km long  section over open water across  Yangcheng Lake in Suzhou.The bridge has a span of 80 meters and a basement containing 2,000 pillars.
The bridge was completed in 2010  after four years of construction  and  was opened in 2011.The objective of the construction of this staggering long bridge has been to dilute the rail traffic.
The amazing part is that the Qingdao-Haiwan Road Bridge  is also a part of the Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge and it holds the record for the longest bridge  over  water .
We were astounded by the  brilliant example of of engineering and the bridge which is almost 174 times longer than the London's Tower bridge over the Thames river.Totally amazed by these facts the Danyang Kunshan Grand bridge gains entry in to Elite World Records for the  longest bridge in the world.

Longest DJ Session

Lakota one of  Bristol's best known night clubs is keen on a world record breaking spree.So on its 20th anniversary the club along with another record holder Richard Dolby  hosted the longest ever DJ relay.
Inspired by the Olympics a group of 100 DJ's  played one tune  each  continuously.The session lasted for 2 hours 30 minutes and all the DJ s who had contributed in creating Lakota's name in the 90s assembled at the venue.To increase the excitement levels of everyone special guests Jon Da Silva a regular headliner and  John Kelly from the Liverpool Club would play their tracks in the marathon.
And what turned for a 20th birthday party went on to become a record breaking event.Lakota looked to snatch the title from Radio one Xtra DJ who played with 82 artists.The record currently stands at 100 DJs playing 100 records and we will smash it as part of our birthday celebrations.

Ivor Wilson, Grayson Shipley (Deepgroove), Deli G and Mark Davis are also on the line up. They were the residents at Lakota in the 90’s at nights such as Fish Dude, Revolution and Fandango. The resident DJs from other regular 90’s nights at Lakota such as Lazyhouse, Fruity Antics and One Love will be guesting during the evening.  Charlotte Hazleby who was the club’s promoter in the 90’s will dust off her vinyl and give a rare set.

Leon Alexander of Hope Music is organising room 2 which will be a techno room, reminiscent of the Friday nights at Lakota in the 90s. Billy Nasty, Nifty and Leon Alexander will play alongside other techno DJs. During the 90s Leon’s night at Lakota was called Temptation and he booked DJs such as Carl Cox, Sven Vath and Laurent Garnier.
The session  was set by Dance Aid For One Life on  at Lakota Club in Bristol, United Kingdom on June 9,2012.The  attempt was record  a breaking one and has been included in the Elite World Records.

Tallest Tower

Japan's biggest new Landmark and the tallest tower Tokyo Skytree has been the latest  entrant in the attraction sphere to leave the crowd  looking amazed  at the structure.The tower stands 634 meters in height and the visitors who managed to get in there got a panoramic view of the city from the top.
The SkyTree was built  to serve as a broadcast tower for television and radio.It is also considered to be an observation tower located at Sumida in Tokyo,Japan.
Due to many high rise buildings around  the original Tokyo Tower was unable to relay digital television broadcasting.This reason steered the purpose to build the Tokyo Skytree almost double the height of the old Tokyo Tower.The project got completed on February 29,2012 and was officially opened on May 22,2012.
Considering Japan has  frequent Earthquakes occurrences  this tower has  seismic proofing and the central shaft is made  up of reinforced concrete.The main pillar is attached t the outer tower structure  125 meters above the ground.Till 375 meters the pillar is attached to the tower frame with oil dampers which act as cushions during the quake.
The tower is designed by Nikken  Sekkei and developed by Tobu Railway .

Optimum space utilization and simultaneously satisfying all the domestic needs to be learnt from Jay Shafer  the brain behind Tumbleweed's small houses.they go by the concept to dream big and build small.Initially the idea of small houses did arose concerns but easy maintenance and  less of unused and unusable  space made it a welcome decision.The houses have been composed with  meticulously attention to light,warmth and energy efficiency.The houses have cozy interiors by minimizing transitional areas like hallways,stairwells which are otherwise used  for storage.

The smallest house ever measured an area of 96 square ft  was set at  Sebastopol ,California,United States of America.The small house concept result  out of the small house movement .The movement is the outcome of what we are doing to the environment  and in return what the environment is doing to us in the form of Hurricane,wildfire and floods.

Tallest Building

Dubai  one of the best shopping destinations in the world attracts tourist from all over every year.With its wonderful landscape and magnificent architecture this city has always been an eye attraction for all the grand  reasons.One of the prominent landmarks  Dubai could boast of is the presence of the tallest building in the world.A project by the Emmar Group  this building is a true example of  architectural master piece.Standing at the heart of Dubai it surpasses limits and  expectations and gracefully lifts the desert with a new sheen and glow.The building has some stunning number of superlatives attached to it.
Burj-Khalifa standing at 828 meters in height  has been a combination of  both visionary ideals and solid science.It symbolizes the aesthetic unison of  many cultures from Arabia and the rest of the world.
The building was made in honour of  Abu Dhabi ruler Sheikh Khalifa  bin Zayad Al -Nahyan .The entire cost of the project stood at $1.5  Billion.The work started on September 21,2004 and  was completed by October 1,2009.The building was officially inaugurated on January 4,2010.It stands as a signifying beacon of  progress and an emblem of the prosperous Middle east

Tallest Human Pyramid

When we talk about Pyramids it is the Egyptian pyramids or the pyramids of Giza that come to our mind.But those are monuments and best read in Histroy books. India  could also boast of pyramids but not as those monuments but man's venture in celebrating festivals.Yes we are talking about human pyramids organised on the occasion of Gokulashtami or the Birth of Lord Krishna.The  Hindus consider this day very sacred as it is believed Lord Krishna was born on this day ages back  to bring an end to the atrocities caused  by demons to mankind .The human pyramid signifies the way Lord Krishna during his early boyhood spent  in Gokul used to steal butter kept on pots with the help of his friends.

In modern times there is a  blend of commerciality added to this celebration.A group of  fifty to hundred or probably even more organize themselves in to a multi tier human pyramid and  target to break the pot filled with butter milk  strung on ropes at  a great height.That is why it is also called 'Dahi Handi'  locally.The pots are usually broken with a blunt object by the  topmost person standing on the pyramid.A coconut is usually used to break the pots and the buttermilk spills all over the troops signifying unity in their efforts to success.Many Govinda groups compete with each other to earn hefty rewards .These celebrations in recent times  have a political flavour attached to them as political parties  announce heavy cash prizes to the winners to gain prominence.

In the event of one such   'Gokulashtami' on August 22,2011 famous cultural  and sporting organisation Castellers De Vilafranca, from Spain  along with Maharashtra Tourism Development Board  and Sangarsh a Non Government Organisation organised the tallest 10 tier  human pyramid comprising of 300 participants at Mumbai,India.Castellars de Vilafranca has about 400 active members who are adept in  building human pyramids and hence they  wanted to create a record to make the festive celebration even grand.

Larger than life sized Rangoli

'Rangoli'  an ancient folk art  are decorative designs  made on floors of living rooms,courtyards during an festival occassion.the colourful designs adds the extra zeal and enthusiasm  for the celebration.Rangoli are made with a variety of colour powders in various designs.Usually colours always refer to happiness and any festival  would be meaningless if it is devoid of cheer.For Hindus it is considered sacred as it means to welcome the deities.Ancient Rangoli  symbols are passed on from generation to generation thus keeping the art form and tradition alive.To others Rangoli designs may  mean to bring Good Luck.The Design depictions may vary depending on traditions and practices.The designs are usually geometric shapes,deity impressions,flower petal shape and sometimes very elaborate designs depending upon the craftsmanship of numerous people.The base material is dry or wet granulated rice flour to which vermilion and turmeric powder can be added to make completely natural.Modern day practice include adding artificial  chemical colour ,sand and flower petals  to decorate them.
But the one we are actually talking about is  quite contrast  to mark a  sad occassion.The Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya made a rangoli measuring an area of 9,028 square meters using 19,000 Kg  of  nine shades of Rangoli colours  as a tribute to those whose lives were claimed by the Mumbai Terror attacks which took place on November 26,2008.The brahma Kumaris created the Rangoli at AshokBhau Firodia School Ground in Ahmednagar,Maharashtra on November 26,2011 as a token of rememberence of the innocent persons killed in the attack.The terror strikes believed to be the brainchild of the Pakistan Based military organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba  hit India and especially Mumbai on a very hard note.The terror strikes were globally condemned and lasted for three days.
More than 2,500 students and Brahma Kumaris youth wing  participated in the Rangoli feat.This gesture would always remind everyone of the unprecedented man made calamity and its dire consequences on life and property.This would also teach children the negative effects of terrorism  and if the seeds of  terrorist beliefs are not thrown out could result in  destruction.

Longest Variety show

The Longest variety show consisted of  various performing art categories like dancing,singing,mimicry,theatre,instrumentals both classical and western ,poetry and many more.The show organised by Shri Vision Social Empowerment and welfare Association (SRV SEWA) has taken pride in hosting the show at Gandhi Hall,Indore  for 12 hours and  12 minutes.the event saw the performances of 145 performers giving 107 performances.
the time alloted to each performance was close to three minutes minimum and  could last for a maximum of 10 minutes.The non profit organisation with the support of 'Dainik Dabang Dunia the newspaper daily provided a platform for many artist from around  the regions to showcase their talents.Talents gets a new edge and starts to perform at its best when it gets an opportunity to unleash.
The artists with the right kind of talent mix could offer more  depth to creativity.And this was the main idea of the variety show apart from making the  record headlines.The show had performances going from November 1,2011 to November 10,2011.Then on the final day on November 11,2011 the best performances across all categories was filtered and the finest performers set the stage for non stop 12 hours,12 minutes.
This was incredible and conveyed the fact of the  enormity in the talent pool.With such a huge talent resource   India could well be on the fore front in the performing arts section in the international stage.Art is unique and talent sets the person who possesses it apart.All art forms and their pursuit  becomes a journey of exploration,imagination and creation without boundaries.

Largest Photo Cake

The true meaning of Happiness is to be happy within.As the entire world get ready to celebrate the New Year by partying,having fun,cutting cakes,bursting crackers and dancing there are thousands who are simultaneously deprived of the fact of even mere enjoyment.
Yes we are talking about the many underprivileged  children who cannot afford to live life like other normal children It was the initiative of Shri Vision Social Empowerment and Welfare Association (SRV SEWA) to bring a smile on the faces of these kids.They roped in leading cake  manufacturer Baker's ville India Private Limited to bake a huge cake  measuring 11ft*7.5 ft.The entire cake  decorated with Mickey Mouse Photographs  was topped with icing,edible colour  sugar sheets and weighed 260 Kg.The cake was made within 16 hours at Indore Central Mall,Indore,MadhyaPradesh,India  and distributed to the kids on January 1,2012.
This was conceptualized to promote Project Khushi which indicates happiness.Kudos to their efforts as this would really mean bringing in cheer to the deserving  children.what better way to start a New Year to see the    poor children beam with joy.Happiness grows in multitude when shared and sadness reduces when broken out to someone.Such is the irony of life.

Longest Chain of Friendship Bands

Friendship is  all about Helping each other in need.But Shri Vision social Empowerment and Welfare Association (SRV SEWA) hatched upon the idea to inculcate brotherhood,equality among all which would definitely sow the seeds of well being in the society.
The balance of life is maintained when the privileged sections reach out to help the underprivileged persons.that is how the equanimity is restored.The organisation under their programme Miracle for One  supported by leading newspaper 'Dainik Dabang Dunia' with the cooperation of the students of Kautilya Academy Indore assembled Four thousand One Hundred and twenty three friendship bracelets.This proved to be a rather a long chain of Friendship bands on November 7,2011 at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India.
It is important that  the current crop of youth should harbour healthy intentions and good will among each other.Only then the society can get rid of  terrorists,fanatics,psychos and other vices  which attribute their origination skin deep and  if continued  further  can plague the society and the world at large.

Longest Trumpet Fanfare

To mark the Diamond Jubilee of the Queen  soldiers from seven different military units were dressed in full ceremonial uniform to add grand fanfare  to the Buckingham Palace celebrations.The 91 trumpeters played the wedding fanfare which resonated all round  at Wellington Barracks.The trumpeters played the song of Arthur Bliss which lasted for 1 minute and 34 seconds.

The Trumpeters were made up of the Welsh Guards,the Royal Marines,Royal Artillery,Irish Guards,Coldstream Guards,Scot Guards and Grenadier guards all of whom participated came from various military regiments.The attempt was staged by Victoria Business Improvement Districts (VBID) to celebrate the close links it shares with  the Royal Family.The chief of VBID  asserted that this was to showcase the cultural activity and wealth of Victoria.This depicted the fantastic and original way of celebration at West London.

Britain the land known for its pomp and grandeur to stage events left no stones unturned to show off its talents.Even political figures also turned up to witness the event.This attempt promises to be of lasting significance as it glorifies the Queen's six decades  of tenure in reigning the throne.

The occassion took place on June 26,2012 in Southwest London,United Kingdom.

A Giant Pencil

Pencil  has always been the child's early fantasies.When the child actually begins to write he or she gets fascinated  looking at the pencil that probably prompts the interest in writing.Today pencil comes of various colour and shapes and that tends to attract the child even more.The largest pencil  sporting a length of 76 ft  could be proclaimed as the mother of all writing pencils.
The giant pencil's creator Ashrita Furman decided to get it displayed inside Skateless park,3rd Floor,City Museum,St Louis,Missouri,United States of America.The whole pencil weighs 18,000 pounds  with a 2 and half ft long eraser at the other end.The lead weighing 4500 pounds with 10 inch thick graphite.Almost 8000  wooden boards and  10 inch graphite pieces were used  to build the pencil.If that was not enough to attract children the pencil can be used for writing like any other ordinary pencil and has a real eraser made of  original rubber.It took them an estimated  7000 man hours to finish the project and get it displayed on January 18,2007.
Ashrita Furman along with 40 volunteers worked for two weeks to get the pencil to full shape.In order to give a surprise  everyone on his teacher Shri Chinmoy's  birthday he set out to create the largest pencil  on August 27,2007.

Sequoia the Super Computer

A really techie matter and gets even more if you are to discuss about super computers.Sequoia the  fastest super computer has set   very high standards by  performing 16.32  petaflops on the Lin pack Benchmark.Sequoia was simulated to use it for  the safety  and efficacy of the  United States Nuclear weapons.The United States of America has regained the crown as  the IBM developed Sequoia  is 1.55 times more faster   from Japan's  K Computer made by Fujitsu.
To make the tech statistics more understandable IBM was quoted as saying that the supercomputer is capable of  calculating in one hour  what otherwise it would have taken 6.7 billion people using hand calculators 320 years  if they worked non stop.
Further Sequoia is even more energy efficient than the Fujitsu model.It consumes just 7.9 megawatts as compared to K computer  which uses 12.6 megawatts.As pointed out by the super computer team lead  sequoia  has attained the pinnacle of energy efficiency
In the current high technology era super computers come of tremendous use in  a variety of fields including earth science,astronomy,Geophysics,medicine and nuclear science.The machine will facilitate in better understanding of nuclear weapons performance especially the hydrodynamics,temperature,pressure which would provide a platform for effective nuclear testing.
It is installed at the United States Department of Energy's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California and entered the headlines on June 18,2012.

'TURANOR'-The Largest Solar Boat

Solar Power the free inexhaustible resource and boon to   life on earth.The Sun has been overwhelmingly radiating the rays  all around  and that has been  so crucial for the existence of life on this green planet.But have we really optimally  harnessed this abundant solar power available to us .That question remains unanswered  for most of us.Yes we do have a bunch of solar appliances we could boast of  like for e.g Solar heaters,solar cookers etc.But these are just negligible usage as compared to the enormous solar heat the earth surface absorbs.
On September 27,2010 TURANOR  planet Solar boat   designed by LOM Ocean Design  built by Knierim  Yachtbau    in Kiel,Germany has  a different story to tell us.Thanks to Raphael Domjan  the original visionary of the solar power backed boat.TURANOR  set off with a five member crew and a capacity to hold 50 passengers.it has a length of 31 meter,15 meter in width  which is covered in 537 square meters of solar panels.These solar panels provide power to four electric  motors  having a maximum output of 120 KW .
The main objective to set out on a world trip was to  rely totally on the  power  of the sun. The body is made of light durable carbon fibre  so that longevity and buoyancy is maintained.
The team travelled  from Monaco and crossed the Atlantic Ocean , the Panama Canal ,Pacific Ocean,Indian Ocean,Suez Canal and arrived back in Hercules  Harbour in Monaco after 18 months of circumnavigation on May 4,2012.The team had been working on this idea since conception for the past 8 years and saw their dreams realised when the boat became fully operational on solar power and completed the navigation successfully.
Solar power is the best green option available to mankind to harness electricity.Taking in to consideration the depleting coal reserves and fossil fuels resorting to thermal power may not be a viable  option to depend  on in the long run.Further solar projects are safe and do not  render hazardous waste back to the environment.
However the boat gained wide attractions of the tourists due to the strange  label it possessed.It was a  pleasure for the whole crew and to the marine life under the sea waters because of the silent and eco friendly propelling system.The crew quipped and admitted the fact that during one of the stopovers at Sardinia the crowd gave a warm  hospitality to the crew with the programme and competitions that awaited them.At almost every stopover they received a grand welcome and appreciation from VIPs , ministers and deputies of Islands who had come to take a view of the first  large solar  venture sailing  in the sea.

Can u ever imagine a puppy smaller than your  business card.Today the latest gadgets like the i phone,i pad which take all our excitement levels even higher and yet they are sized  to fit in to   our palm.From surfing mails to hearing music to getting connected anywhere in this world everything is controlled in our finger tip because of these gadgets and yet they are pocket sized.But these gadgets are all the outcome of man's brainy inventions.But  Mother nature also decided to give a  fitting reply to man's quest for fast paced technological tiny devices by  presenting a tiny pup named 'Beyonce'.
The pup born at El Dorado Hills,California,United States of America made many heads turn with its amazingly small size.Beyonce's mother Casey a dachshund mix was abandaned by her owners and was living on the streets of San Bernardino,California.She was pregnant and almost on the last stage of her pregnancy when she was picked by the Devore Animal Control.When Casey was scheduled for euthanasia , Grace Foundation in  Northern California came to her  rescue.An Ultrasound report revealed Casey was carrying five puppies and one of them was alarmingly tiny in size.Later on March 8,2012 Casey delivered all her Puppies and the tiny Beyonce came out last with the least chance of survival.Beyonce  started  life with a shaky  beginning and later became thriving and normal. Beyonce defied all odds and came to be touted as the remarkable  tiny survivor.
The animal shelter submitted an application  for declaring Beyonce as the smallest pup ever.And with a lucky streak of chance beside her she could  be the diminutive dachshund  to hit the record lines for being the tiniest pup on this  planet.

Cinderella May  a Holly Grey Dog  has proved that athletic feats need not be the sole monopoly of humans alone even dogs can give the humans  a tough fight in this regard.It  is true that Cindrella May owned by Kate Long and Kathreen Conroy  jumped to a height of 172.7 cm  at Miami ,Florida,United States of America.This record was achieved by the dog  at the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge  National Finals in  October 7,2006.
Getting a pet dog and  to make a record of this level at the Gray Summit,Missouri was a real challenge.The dogs have many times in the past proved  that they are almost if not equal to humans can perform innumerable  human feats.These kinds of canines are also touted to be very intelligent and are usually fast learners.Cindrella May born in February 2000 from two unusual breeding of two greyhounds was adopted by Kathreen and Kate  when she was just 6 months from the Hollydogs Greyhound Rescue Department.Colleen another dog living in the same home of the owners was  2 years older than Cindrella. Colleeen was  involved in the dog agility competition.As Colleen was active in these competitions the owners decided to channelise Cindrella's energy also in to the training activity.Cindrella began agility training in June 2001  and set high standards by getting the Canine good Citizen Designation and the Excellent Jumper title.In the initial stages itself she demonstrated excellent jumping abilities in such a way that  she would never drop a bar and possessed an efficient jump arc.She started to get specially trained for this special ability and amazingly ran in to success at the Purina Dog Challenge.She set high records tough enough for her other fellow dog friends to beat by jumping almost 60 inches To this point her trainers believe she has the potential to   free style jump 63 inches and set high Doggy standards  for the world.

Extra Bytes of Poison in a single Bite

You can be sure and relieved of the fact that we are not talking about the memory bytes in your disk  space emitting poison or any virus.We are talking about the  Ashe's Spitting Cobra  which is almost 9 feet in length delivering more venom in a single bite.It is true that the cobra is too generous enough in spitting venom in just a bite unlike its other contemporaries.The snake is predominantly  found in the dry low lands of North and East Kenya,Uganda  and Ethiopia.This aggressive reptile  was previously identified  as a brown coloured variant  of the black necked  spitting cobra.The cobra was distinctly  identified after a blood and  tissue analysis that confirmed the news of its own biological identity.
The  reptile is named after famous herpetologist James Ashe  who founded the Bio Ken  snake farm  and research center.The center milks snakes  for their venom and sends the samples to the lab to develop anti  venom.A single specimen milked at the Bio Ken farm  in 2004  produced a  wet venom yield  of 6.2 ml, weighed 7.1 gm and contained around 3 gms of toxins.The huge venom spitting made headlines when an article about it was published in the animal taxanomy  magazine Zootaxa  by the University of Wales and Biodiversity  Foundation of Africa in Bulawyo ,Zimbabwe.The new specie gained wider prominence in December 7,2007  when the researchers announced the new specie through  WildLife Direct a non profit conservation group.
Due to the fast civilization and industrialization taking place all around many habitats are getting disappeared  and also there may be existence of unreported new species too.This is because of mismanagement of the planet taking place in  the wake of  destruction of habitats due to urbanization.The need is to conserve the flora and fauna for the future generations.

Bullet Portraits for those killed by Bullets

As the popular saying goes remove a thorn with a thorn.A  fitting tribute to those great  legends who sacrificed their lives  for a cause and ended up being victims of bullet firings. Yes we are talking about Artist David Palmer the man behind this  art. He  has chosen the bullet shells  to create portraits of  icons  like  Lenon,Lincoln and Kennedy.He has collected enough bullet casings  and put them all  together on a  a metal canvas .Then by using a small blowtorch darkens the  ends of the bullet casings to make detailed portraits.This was one of the artistic  miracle of creating something new from the medium which is used to destroy.A powerful weapon like a bullet is turned in to an art medium thanks to the creative thinking of Palmer.
That was a wonder art work from David Palmer based in California.He has immortalized all the famous gun victims by creating their portraits with bullets . David Palmer was inspired by the fact of creating a memorial for Lennon  that would remind future  generations  about the way he died.Therefore Palmer envisioned  a portrait  in a pixilation of bullet casings  with the aim of taking what destroyed the  person in to an enduring moment of strength.
He used 8,000,40 calibre  bullet casings  from a handgun  for the John Lennon  piece which measured (48*48 ')  and weighed around 160 lb.The casings  are struck to a rigid  wooden base  using a strong adhesive  before using the blowtorch  and other metal paints  to complete the portrait with an array of suitable colour.The artist  admits the fact that a negative thing like a bullet usually used for destruction if given an artistic edge by utilizing them in a creative way like this the world would be a better place to live.
David Palmer got a positive response from the public and media around January 19,2012 after displaying  his bullet portraits and that has encouraged him to come up with more unique portraits  and making this art work known globally.
He also plans in a big way to create portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther king  whose lives were claimed by bullets

This idea was fueled  by Serendipity 3 to help the Bowery Mission to feed the hungry from the proceeds of the sale of this expensive burger.The mission was to help the hungry and the homeless in New York.So the concept of indulging in  luxury also has a philanthrophic purpose attached to it.'Eat the burger and help the hungry or donate the burger to the hungry ' was the  noble objective behind this grand treat.The Burger was launched on May 22,2012 when it became a record and a news to share among gossip mongers. 

Travel all Round the World for Free-Michael Wigge Let's you Know It

In the times of inflationary cost and escalating prices anything we plan to buy or incur an expense always ends up drilling a hole in to the pockets.This may be a case with most of us planning a trip for a vacation or cracking up an idea of a foreign tour or even for that matter buying any thing while shopping.But Michael Wigge has a different story to tell us all.An Unbelievable attempt  of  this award winning comedian Michael Wigge  to travel 25,000 miles from Europe to Antarctica  without a single penny in his pocket.An amazingly true story  but hard to accept on the lines of reality .This traveller has unusual experiences to share in his diary.With the help of 100 people  this go getter traveller  managed to get  free food, accommodation and transportation  for his 150 days expedition of 11 countries.
Let us take a  small sneak peek of his adventure.Wigge started off from  Berlin in June 2010  and planned the journey for a year  relying on  contacts and kindness of other  strangers.He went even  to the extent of Dumpster Diving scrounging around for food initially to accomplish this strange task. Then he  gave this  up as it seemed too unreasonable  and started  to do barter in restaurants.He would clean windows and floors in restaurants in exchange for food.In places like Latin America people were helpful  and hospitable enough to offer him a space to sleep for the night.He crossed the Atlantic working his way in a container ship from Belgium to Canada.In Las Vegas he indulged in pillow fights for $1 on the streets and in San Francisco he collected tips from heavy tourists  to push them up the hill. Doing all this he pooled enough money to avail  an air fare to Costa Rica  where he hitchhiked to Panama working as a butler to a German Ambassador.Then to parts of South America he worked as an assistant  in a luxury ship.One of his worst job stints during this  journey has been  working as   a porter  carrying  tourists luggage in exchange for a trip to Machu  Picchu.Then from Peru he came back to Antartica in November 2010.From there to  fly back to Berlin  he accessed his own bank account  for the return expense.
That was the courage and  high spirit  of this man to travel one way to Antartica from Berlin  at zero personal cost.With a variety of experiences which were  both a mixture of highs and lows this expedition was really one worth to remember for a life time.

Mother Nature Musically yours

Diego Stocco the Italian Musician can vouch for creating music from nothing.He is credited to have created his own distinquished tracks combining the sounds from bow,bark,coconut,bees,almonds,orange peels,rice and other  objects gifted  by nature .This is sort of a tribute to Mother nature for giving us so much and reinstating the fact that even music can be created  with natural elements.We have so far seen music produced from the drum where the thin membrane is stretched accordingly to create the desired rhythm and beats.The string instruments  like the violin,veena,guitar  produce sound when the string of a particular length is stretched to a degree tends to   produce  sound depending on the tension present on the string.We also have the jal tarang the traditional instrument where the sound is created  and varies based on the water level in the glasses or containers.All these above examples are experimented and tested by time and have proved their track record  during any musical concert.

But Diego Stocco has something different to offer.In the spirit of celebrating Earth day 2012 the talented  muscian has created his signature musical composition exclusively from natural instruments.He uses professional microphones,customised stethoscope to best capture the sound of nature as made by trees,leaves,almonds and all.This whole new idea came to his mind in 2009 when  he was inspired to use an odd tree in his garden as a musical instrument.Totally intrigued by the idea he experimented with music from a bonsai tree.Stocco has got this unique talent of  creating music from anything he got on hands.

what a better way to welcome Earth day on April 22,2012 by creating a musical track out of Mother Nature's   innumerable Gifts  to mankind .The event went on to become  a unique record for Stocco  who has delivered this  wonderful musical masterpiece.

Cool Music performed at the coolest conditions

Music4 children band has a bunch of passionate music lovers where  the will of passion can even supersede  tolerating extreme temperatures. Music4children organisation was born when Guitarist  Bayldon was walking around the streets of Nepal and wanted to buy food for a  disabled child begging on the street.When he was buying food he was surrounded by 30 street kids begging for food.This incident emotionally moved him and he decided to fend them all .This catapulted him to conceive the idea of starting  Music4children.He decided to    dedicate  his efforts for the cause of poor street children of Nepal. .
A really thrilling experience for these bunch of musicians led by Aussie musician Bayldon himself ,JB Pkon from France , and Lou Dolubu from Sweden  and their team of 10 musicians as they  reminisce the whole venture as the hardest but an amazing incident.  This was done with an objective   to raise funds for an orphanage.Nobility at its best they performed with determination for non stop forty minutes  before a crowd of 15 trekkers.They were at a height of 6,654 meters atop the Mera  Peak,Sagarmatha,Nepal.   The freezing temperatures did not deter these bunch of musicians to  give up  even when their fingers   trembled  .They quipped when interrogated that the extreme chillness hardly stopped them for what they were aiming for.They had  trekked and assembled for a purpose and were daring and raring to go to achieve their dreams.
They gave solo performances too which included French and Spanish songs and described the entire experience as  adventurous and breath taking.They raised enough funds for building an orphanage from the proceeds they received from the viewers who had witnessed the concert.The band describes this event as a gig at Mera peak.The musicians have notched up this musical journey by performing at the highest altitude and reclaiming their title back  from Bolivia  for the World'Highest Gig on May 23,2012.But what stimulated more for these musicians apart from breaking the record was to raise money for the benefit of orphan children at Dhulikhel,Nepal.

Fascinating portrait using 1000 tiny photographs

Inspiration and motivation are  the two distinctive qualities  that can drive a  person to think differently.And this was what even Anna Halm Schudel would vouch for.The Zurich based photographer was inspired to create this collection of portraits a series of large formatted  images that are comprised of thousands of tiny images.Each such tiny image was  sized to just 1 square centimeter wide.

At a first glance from a wider angle you may see it as a portrait of say for example Barack Obama.Schudel collected images  from the internet and worked the small pieces together like a jigsaw  puzzle and  matched the  tones and colour from the  original photograph to make the new look  different.On April 19,2012 she created a portrait with 1000 tiny photographs and entered the hall of fame.The unique part in her art is she creates a contrast between the close up and the distant experience.

Making fascinating portraits of Scarlett Johannson and Obama,  Schudel has carved a niche for herself in creating and inventing this new form of art of creating a big  portrait with thousands of  tiny images.The procedure she adopts to do this is  very complex as  she goes on to  digitally master the tiny image to  fit in to  the general line of the portrait.Each such small images  becomes visible to us only when we take a closer look at the portrait.

Anna Halm Schudel possesses a real powerhouse of talent in photography and is credited to come up  with such a  fresh  idea and  has  given a new dimension to the art of photography.

11 Day Art Festival

A real good news for passionate art lovers.Shri Vision social empowerment and welfare association organised a 11 day  art festival  showcasing all art forms from singing,dancing,mimicry,poetry and many more  at Gandhi Hall, Indore ,MadhyaPradesh .The programme supported by Dainik Dabang Dunia  a leading newspaper had an over whelming response as it was open to all.The charity show conducted under the programme Miracle  of one saw many performers displaying their artistic and creative talent on stage.
Many struggling performers and artists saw this as a much needed breakthrough as their talents were depicted  before  hundreds of audience.The programme started on November 1,2011 and lasted till November 11,2011.We were enthralled by this whole idea as the whole concept was so appealing and got a massive crowd  support.
The programme titled Miracle for one as One and one makes eleven the programme was therefore hosted for 11 days.A dedicated venture to take art to a higher  at the same time giving chance to so many artists whose talents  got unleashed with the opportunity .The programme got a huge support and paved way for it to  become a world record event of the longest charity show.The proceeds were dispersed for various charitable purposes which in its own right  showed a  distinctive class of noble and selfless service .A fitting tribute to art as our country has a rich heritage of various art forms which is  so culturally diverse across regions.The performance went on for 264 hours non stop throughout the 11 days and this showed the amount of talent pool and the rich art resource the Nation possesses.This gesture also was a sign of support and patronage we must provide every budding artist and performer so that they get the recognition they deserve and rather would  bolster them to rise to their full potential.Many art forms when not recognized at the correct time remain to be untapped and that can result in detrimenting the particular form of art.\

Bull's Horns horn aloud to fame

Lurch an African Watusi   bull has become an international celebrity in his short life of  8 years.Lurch a record holder for a rather strange reason.He had Horns  with a circumference of  95.25 cm and was adopted by Janice wolf  when he was just 5 weeks old.Lurch  was born on October 11,1995 on a Watusi ranch in Missouri.At the age of two years itself his horns were growing at  an alarming rate unlike the normal watusi bulls.By the age of three years he had the largest known horn circumference ever.His owners Janice wolf were pretty convinced about the enormity of Lurch's Horns that they applied for a official record recognition so that world comes to know of this unusually rare stuff.
Each of the massive horns weighs 100 pounds  and this was rather showcased on Animal planet.Lurch's inclusion  in  record books for his amazing sized horns saw him attracting visitors from far and wide ranging from Vietnam,Sweden,Japan,Australia as well as 50 other United States  at his Rocky Ridge Refuge in Gassville,Arkanas,United States of America.
As wisely said by someone sudden fame is short  lived.Lurch who shot to fame for his horns sadly succumbed to cancer  formed at the base of one of the horns on May 22,2010.

Can We ever imagine a prison becoming a treat  for the prisoners.Although in our widest dreams our general perception about prisons for criminals  are the regular lashes from the police,Stale food,Humiliating animal like  treatments  to inmates,tortures  meted out  by some prisoners on other inmates  who  boss  around and throw   authority  .These are all the things we have seen and read about prisons and prison life.But adding some sanity to our thoughts is Norway's Bastoy Prison which has an uncanny different style to handle the deadliest criminals  with heinous track records of rape and murder.And yes hold on your breath  the prison has all the luxuries a commoner would always yearn for starting from a cable T.V ,cinema room,sunbed and sauna all this on an area spread over 1 square mile.Here the convict is given the freedom to work and mix with  non criminals.Alongside the prisoners are trained to pursue bi cycle repairing,being ferry worker etc  so that the offenders come out as better individuals when they finish serving their sentence.

A totally psychological concept bearing  a positive outlook  unlike  what happens in  other conventional prisons.Here the prisoners enjoy  complete freedom with responsibility.Here you are given a job and asked to deal with all the challenges that entails along with it. It is an arena in which the mind can heal, allowing prisoners to gain self-confidence, establish respect for themselves and in so doing respect for others too. The prison located at Oslo Fiord Norway is a true example of an on going experiment whose ideologies  should rather spread and benefit  not only Norway and parts of Europe but also the entire world. A true example of overflowing creativity and skill, 30 year old Wajid Khan from Indore,Madhya Pradesh deserves the laurels that come by his side.We are speaking about his unique talent of making portraits with nails.One of the special  ones was the nail portrait he made on an acrylic foam sheet almost hammering one lakh nails to make a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi.This was a fitting tribute to our great Father of the Nation.Khan has  been having this     impeccable  style which he cherished right from his childhood and his constant innovation has only led him to fully nurture  this talent blossoming within him.
He wasn't satisfied painting regular landscape and that prompted him to try something different.He has made nail portraits of Rahul Gandhi, an Arab man , a running horse  and has also made foray in to three dimensional  painting with nails which he creates with utmost diligence & care . Each such work takes almost 8 to 10 months for completion.One of the few nail artist the world has ever produced Khan takes pride in hammering thousands  of nails on a sheet of plywood . Wajid Khan has also taken part in reality shows to expose his art to the world.And  wearing all the much needed credits up his sleeve he is even getting noticed internationally.When asked about his further plans he gushed by saying he derives great satisfaction from the fact  that he  has been doing something different and plans to take his unusual wonder art to every nook and corner of the world.Wajid Khan  was honoured  as a record holder  on July 16,2012.
